Opening hours and closures
You can find our regular opening hours on the Careers Centre location page.
There are occasions when the Careers Centre might be closed during our normal opening hours. Any upcoming closures are listed on our planned closures page.
Careers helpdesk
When you enter the Careers Centre, you will find a desk on your left. This is the Careers helpdesk. Our friendly staff at the desk will greet you and ask you what you need help with.
If you have a booked appointment, let our staff know. They may ask you to use the self-service tablet to log your attendance.
Depending on what sort of help you need, the staff member on the desk might:
- ask you some questions to better understand your situation and needs
- show you relevant online resources on screen
- offer information and advice to answer your questions
- add you to the drop-in queue for more in-depth advice
Careers staff
Our information team staffs the helpdesk. All staff are trained to listen and provide information to help you take your next steps.
If you need more in-depth help, helpdesk staff will take your Bath Username and add you to the drop-in queue to speak to a Careers Consultant, Applications Adviser or Student Employability Coach.

Drop-in area
When the staff member seeing you in a drop-in is ready, they will take you to the other side of the Careers Centre from the helpdesk. This is an open-plan area for drop-ins.
At busy times, there may be other students also waiting for a drop-in. If this is the case, helpdesk staff will book you in and tell you what the wait time is. You can sit in the Careers Centre in the drop-in area. When it is your turn, the member of staff you will be seeing will come and find you.
Consulting rooms
We have two private consulting rooms. These are mostly used for booked appointments.
The staff member handling your appointment will come and get you when they are ready. They will take you into a private consulting room for the appointment.
If you don't have a booked appointment, but have sensory processing needs and would benefit from talking to someone in a quieter space, we can use the consulting rooms for drop-in support if they are available.
